Auraria Campus Officer Shot During Early Morning Incident in Denver

The officer sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound while attempting to apprehend a suspect who fled twice before being arrested.

The incident occurred around 1:18 a.m. when officers confronted a suspect trespassing into a vehicle on the Auraria Campus.
The suspect assaulted the officers and fled, prompting a pursuit by campus and Denver police.
Upon locating the suspect again, officers deployed a taser, but the suspect fired multiple shots, injuring one officer in the arm.
The injured officer was treated at a hospital and released shortly after with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was eventually arrested and taken to a hospital for evaluation, with the Denver Police Department leading the investigation.
