August Skywatching: Perseid Meteor Shower and Planetary Conjunctions

Stargazers can look forward to a dazzling display of meteors and planetary alignments this month.

The Perseid meteor shower will peak on the night of August 11-12, with up to 100 meteors per hour.
Venus will be prominently visible in the evening sky, especially near a crescent moon on August 5.
Mars and Jupiter will appear extremely close together in the sky on August 14.
A rare supermoon will occur on August 19, appearing larger and brighter than usual.
Ideal viewing conditions are expected due to minimal moonlight interference during peak meteor activity.
