- Health officials at the CDC and FDA are investigating a Salmonella outbreak that has sickened 79 people with 21 hospitalizations and no deaths as of June 6.
- The voluntary recall covers 1.7 million organic and cage-free brown eggs sold under brands including Clover Organic, First Street, Marketside, Raley’s and Sunnyside.
- Recalled cartons bear plant codes P-6562 or CA-5330 with Julian dates between 032 and 126 and sell-by dates through June 19.
- Eggs processed between February 3 and May 15 were distributed to retailers in Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Washington and Wyoming.
- Consumers should check cartons for the affected codes, discard or return any recalled eggs and sanitize all surfaces and utensils that may have contacted them.
