Larry Mitchell, the team’s current sporting director and a former head coach of the Panther, will temporarily take over coaching duties while the club searches for a new head coach.
Mitchell's first game back as coach will be against Straubing Tigers on Friday, with the match already sold out at the Curt-Frenzel-Stadion.
The Panther leadership emphasized the need for fresh momentum to salvage the season, with 32 games remaining and the team currently at the bottom of the DEL standings.
