- The iconic pearl necklace worn by Audrey Hepburn in the final scene of the film 'Roman Holiday' will be auctioned online at Christie's 'The Geneva Edit' event from November 3-16. The necklace is expected to fetch between $21,000 and $29,000.
- The necklace, chosen by Hepburn herself from a selection brought on set by Italian jeweller Fürst, features two strands of round cultured pearls with an 18-karat white gold motif outlined with 6 carats of diamonds and set with round and oval-shaped sapphire cabochons.
- The auction will include over 200 lots featuring pieces from renowned jewelers including Van Cleef & Arpels, Graff, and Boucheron, as well as a private collection of gold nuggets.
- Hepburn’s role as Crown Princess Ann in 'Roman Holiday' is widely regarded as her breakout role, earning her an Academy Award for Best Actress and solidifying her status as Hollywood royalty.
- Other standout lots in the sale include an Art Deco bracelet, a coral, enamel and diamond brooch shaped like a ladybug, a diamond, emerald and onyx 'Panthère' brooch by Cartier, and a collection of gold nuggets.
