Audra McDonald to Lead Broadway Revival of 'Gypsy'

The six-time Tony Award winner will play the iconic role of Rose in the upcoming production directed by George C. Wolfe.

Performances will begin on November 21, with the official opening set for December 19 at the Majestic Theatre.
McDonald will be the first Black actress to portray Rose on Broadway.
The production will feature choreography by Camille A. Brown and is produced by Tom Kirdahy and Mara Isaacs.
The Majestic Theatre will reopen after renovations, having previously hosted 'The Phantom of the Opera' for 35 years.
McDonald describes the role of Rose as a lifelong dream and a significant challenge.
