Overview
- On Thursday, October 1, 2026, Audi published outline plans for a purpose-built F1 campus less than one kilometre from its existing Hinwil headquarters.
- Parts of the new site were brought into use in summer 2026 and Audi expects the campus to be fully developed by 2030 under a phased construction plan.
- The current Hinwil facility will stay operational during building work and will later be repurposed as the team’s manufacturing centre and wind tunnel.
- Audi will keep engine development and production in Neuburg, Germany, and maintain its technical satellite in Bicester, UK, to preserve specialist capabilities and staff who cannot relocate.
- Audi frames the investment as a people-first move to attract and retain engineers and specialists and to underpin its long-term bid to compete for championships, following its full rebrand of Sauber to Audi earlier in 2026 and Hinwil’s motorsport history since 1970.
