Auburn Wins Maui Invitational Behind Johni Broome’s Dominance

The Tigers defeated Memphis 90-76 in the championship game, led by Broome’s stellar performance and balanced team scoring.

Johni Broome recorded 21 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, and four blocks to lead No. 4 Auburn to victory over Memphis in the Maui Invitational final.
Auburn opened the game with a 9-0 run and maintained control, leading by 16 at halftime and by as many as 22 points late in the second half.
Dylan Cardwell contributed 18 points on perfect shooting (8-for-8), while Chad Baker-Mazara and Denver Jones added 14 and 11 points, respectively, for Auburn.
Memphis’ PJ Haggerty scored a game-high 27 points, but standout guard Tyrese Hunter was limited to just 11 points after strong performances earlier in the tournament.
Auburn becomes only the third SEC team to win the Maui Invitational, joining Vanderbilt (1986) and Kentucky (1993).
