- Auburn will welcome Troy to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 6, 2031 for the programs’ first varsity meeting.
- Troy athletics director Kyle George called it a “marquee game” and thanked Auburn AD John Cohen for helping make it happen.
- The Trojans are the only Division I football program from Alabama that Auburn has not previously faced.
- Troy’s early meetings with Auburn were against the Tigers’ freshman team in 1931 and 1932, both Trojan wins.
- Auburn also added a 2028 home game with Georgia Southern, joining future nonconference matchups with Baylor (2026), Notre Dame (2027–28) and Miami (2029–30), while Troy highlighted upcoming dates with Missouri, Miami, Clemson and Mississippi State.
