ATU Launches Yape Top-Ups for Lima Pass on Metropolitano and Complementary Corridors

ATU says the move will ease station bottlenecks by enabling phone-based recharges.

Overview

  • Integration is live following a Jan. 15 announcement at Estación Central with ATU, Yape and Transport Minister Aldo Prieto.
  • The option covers Lima Pass on the Metropolitano and the Azul, Rojo and Morado corridors, including personalized preferential and school cards.
  • Top-ups range from S/1 to S/200 per operation and can be made daily from 00:00 to 21:15.
  • Balances must be validated at a bus or station validator within seven days, with payment recommended about 15 minutes before boarding.
  • In Yape, choose Yapear servicios, search Metropolitano y Corredores, enter the card number, set the amount and confirm; the addition follows 2025 Plin recharges that exceeded 500,000 operations.
