ATU Implements New Year’s Day Transit Schedules Across Lima and Callao

The transport regulator tailored hours by mode to match holiday demand, with normal timetables set to resume from January 2.

Overview

  • Regular public transport operates from 4:30 a.m. to midnight on January 1, with service levels adjusted to demand.
  • Metropolitano services A, B and C run from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Expreso 5 operates 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and feeder routes run until 11:00 p.m., following adjustments that began December 31.
  • Line 1 of the Metro runs 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with trains every 7.5 to 15 minutes depending on the time of day.
  • Line 2 keeps its regular 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. schedule, the complementary corridors run 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Aerodirecto maintains its usual airport service.
  • Authorized taxis provide 24-hour service on the holiday, and full normal operations return from Friday, January 2 through the weekend.
