Overview

  • Settlement administrator Kroll began emailing notices this month and activated the online claims portal on August 13 for current and former AT&T customers.
  • The settlement sets aside $149 million for the March 2024 breach that exposed Social Security numbers and $28 million for the July 2024 cloud-platform leak of call and text logs.
  • Claimants can request up to $5,000 for documented losses from the March incident, up to $2,500 for the July breach, or a combined maximum of $7,500 for both.
  • Exact payout amounts will depend on the volume of claims, the strength of documentation and pro rata distributions, and no funds will be distributed until after court approval and any appeals.
  • U.S. District Judge Ada Brown will hold a final fairness hearing in the Northern District of Texas on December 3, 2025, to consider granting approval.
