Overview

• Days of torrential rain and landslides in North Bengal have left dozens dead, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee earlier reporting 23 fatalities across Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Siliguri.
• BJP MP Khagen Murmu and MLA Shankar Ghosh were injured in Nagrakata, Jalpaiguri, as a large crowd pelted stones and vandalised their vehicle; both were shifted to a hospital in Siliguri after videos showed Murmu bleeding.
