Overview

  • AT&T’s ESInet platform, which replaced analog lines with fiber-based IP networks at more than 1,700 U.S. emergency call centers since 2018, will support photo and video messaging to dispatchers starting October 2025.
  • The update aims to make sharing multimedia with public safety answering points as simple as texting family and friends.
  • AT&T will offer interoperability for other nationwide carriers that choose to enable the feature on their networks.
  • Dispatch centers will access incoming multimedia over a dedicated private internet connection to safeguard sensitive emergency data in the cloud.
  • Select 2026 Toyota models equipped with AT&T Connected Car SIMs will automatically transmit crash details—including airbag deployment and precise vehicle location—to 911 operators.
