Make sure you know where the toggle is, just in case.

Overview

  • Wireless Account Lock is now fully available to all AT&T postpaid, prepaid and business subscribers through the myAT&T app.
  • When enabled, it prevents SIM or eSIM swaps, phone number transfers, device upgrades, billing edits and modifications to authorized users.
  • Primary and secondary account holders can toggle the lock on or off at any time and receive email and text confirmations for every change.
  • The launch follows 2023 FCC rules tightening identity verification for number transfers and aligns AT&T with T-Mobile, Verizon and Google Fi safeguards.
  • SIM swapping attacks exploit number porting to intercept calls, texts and two-factor codes and have fueled financial and identity theft across personal and corporate accounts.
