Overview

  • Starting in October 2025, AT&T customers will be able to send photos and video to 911 centers using its ESInet platform as easily as texting.
  • The ESInet platform has been adopted by 1,700 emergency call centers since its 2018 launch, replacing analog connections with a fiber-based IP network for faster, more reliable call processing.
  • The multimedia messaging feature is interoperable with other carriers that choose to integrate it; AT&T will be the first nationwide provider to enable it.
  • The update includes security enhancements, giving dispatchers a private internet connection to safely access public safety data from the cloud.
  • Beginning in 2026, Toyota vehicles equipped with AT&T Connected Car SIMs will automatically transmit crash data, including airbag status and precise location, to 911 dispatchers.
