Overview
- The ATM board approved initially building nearly 3 km of platform and track to connect Francesc Macià and Verdaguer, adding stops at Diagonal–Cinc d’Oros, Balmes and Casanova.
- Francesc Macià will be converted from a terminus to a through station and interchange with bus lines and the planned L8 of FGC.
- On 21 October, the Urbanism and Mobility commission will vote on the city’s parts of the project, including a sewer collector estimated at €62 million and surface works of €53 million, separate from the ATM’s roughly €80 million rail investment.
- Further steps include public exposure, technical approvals for catenaries and safety systems, and tenders expected to take at least six months before any construction can start.
- Separately, the Tramvia Blau revival is tied to a full Tibidabo reurbanization budgeted at about €45–46 million with a four to six year schedule, drawing broad political backing alongside demands for clearer timing and financing.
