Atlanta Braves Announce New Coaching Staff
Matt Tuiasosopo, Tom Goodwin, and Erick Abreu fill key coaching roles following departures of Ron Washington and Eric Young.
- Matt Tuiasosopo, former Triple-A Gwinnett manager, has been promoted to the role of third-base coach for the Atlanta Braves, replacing Ron Washington.
- Tom Goodwin, who served two years as a roving instructor in the minors, will take over as first-base coach from Eric Young.
- Erick Abreu, who spent the last nine seasons as a pitching coach in the Houston Astros organization, will become Atlanta's new bullpen coach, replacing Drew French.
- Washington and Young have both joined the coaching staff of the Los Angeles Angels.
- Atlanta bench coach Walt Weiss will assume the additional role of overseeing the infielders, a duty previously handled by Washington, with Tuiasosopo assisting in his new duties.
