Athletics' Sean Newcomb Undergoes Right Knee Surgery

Procedure performed to alleviate pain from previous left knee surgery, return expected by spring training.

Oakland Athletics left-hander Sean Newcomb underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
The surgery was performed to alleviate pain Newcomb was experiencing while recovering from a procedure on his left knee in September.
The operation was carried out by team orthopedist Dr. Will Workman, who performed a medial meniscectomy.
Newcomb, who had a 1-1 record with a 3.00 ERA over seven games with two starts spanning 15 innings, is expected to be ready to pitch by the start of spring training.
Newcomb was traded from the San Francisco Giants to the Oakland Athletics on August 21.
