Athletes Unlimited Softball Sets Six Home Cities and 2026 Schedule, Expands Playoffs

Fueled by strong first-year attendance alongside a new ESPN deal, the league pursues stable, city-based growth.

Overview

  • The six clubs and venues are set: Carolina Blaze at Duke’s Smith Family Stadium (Durham, N.C.), Chicago Bandits at Parkway Bank Sports Complex (Rosemont), Oklahoma City Spark at Tom Heath Field, Portland Cascade at Hillsboro Ballpark, Texas Volts at Dell Diamond (Round Rock), and Utah Talons at Utah’s Dumke Family Stadium, with local ties such as Cat Osterman as Volts GM and Hannah Flippen on the Talons roster.
  • The 2026 regular season runs June 9–July 20 with 25 games per team; founding season-ticket memberships are open, with single-game tickets to follow.
  • Opening night features Utah hosting Chicago, Carolina hosting Portland, and Oklahoma City hosting Texas.
  • The postseason adds a play-in between the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, with the No. 1 seed advancing directly to a best-of-three final at a neutral site; Rosemont will again host the midseason All-Star Cup.
  • Under a multi-year agreement through 2028, ESPN will air 50 exclusive AUSL games annually, including at least one on ABC, with continued support from MLB noted by league officials.
