Ather Unveils EL Scooter Platform at Community Day 2025, Plus Voice Tech and 6 kW Fast Charging

Overview

  • Built on about 26 lakh km of field data, the EL platform introduces a unibody steel chassis, a swingarm-mounted motor, AEBS braking and a Charge Drive Controller, enabling 15% faster assembly and 10,000 km service intervals.
  • AtherStack 7.0 adds an LLM-powered voice interface tuned for Indian dialects, pothole and crash alerts, ParkSafe and LockSafe, plus remote charge and shutdown controls, with OTA rollout to Rizta Z and Ather 450X Gen 3 in the coming months.
  • A new 6 kW fast charger is half the size of the current unit yet can add about 30 km in 10 minutes on select variants, with LECCS interoperability expanding across partners such as Hero Vida, Matter, Bolt and Kazam, and select sites getting built-in tyre inflators.
  • The company showed the EL01 as a platform preview and displayed Redux as an experimental moto-scooter, which executives emphasized remains a concept.
  • Existing models gain updates as Rizta Z receives a touchscreen activation and Eco Mode via OTA, and the 2025 Ather 450 Apex adds Infinite Cruise with CityCruise, Hill Control and Crawl Control.
