Overview
- Ather confirmed in early June 2026 that the over-the-air rollout of “Voice on Ather” to all Gen 3 and newer scooters is complete, a move announced by CEO Tarun Mehta on social media.
- The feature is available on the 450X, 450 Apex and Rizta Z running Gen 3 hardware and will not be delivered to the 450S or Rizta S models.
- Voice on Ather uses large language models tuned for Indian accents and dialects to accept conversational commands across navigation, vehicle settings, calls and media controls.
- The system works with Ather’s Halo smart helmet and any standard Bluetooth headset, so riders using third-party intercoms such as Sena or Cardo keep compatibility, and the update installs via OTA with no service visit needed.
- Ather plans future updates to add two-way, proactive AI interactions that can push alerts and recommendations to riders, a step the company says will broaden safety and convenience features like tyre or pothole warnings.
