Overview
- Ather unveiled the Konarc on Saturday, Aug 29, 2026, and priced three S-series models at Rs 99,999 (S 100), Rs 1,21,999 (S 125) and Rs 1,44,999 (S 161) as its lowest-cost production scooter to date.
- The Konarc is the first production model on the EL platform, which uses a steel unibody and reduced component count to speed assembly and servicing and was developed from 26 lakh km of field data.
- Ather announced three battery packs for the S line — 2.1 kWh, 2.7 kWh and 3.5 kWh — with peak power of 4 kW or 4.7 kW, a 70 km/h top speed on S models, and a 450 W onboard charger that can be paired with an optional second 450 W unit for faster home charging.
- New convenience and safety items include a 31‑litre underseat boot, 14‑inch front wheel, AirWalk, AutoHold and an Advanced Electronic Braking System on higher Z models, while MagicKey and dashboard apps are reserved for the forthcoming Z variants.
- Ather will deliver S 125 and S 161 from September 2026, S 100 in Q1 2027 and the longer‑range S 200 plus Z variants through 2027, and the company’s competitive impact will hinge on final Z/S 200 pricing, real‑world range and the speed of customer deliveries.
