Atari Cancels Las Vegas Hotel as Phoenix Becomes the Sole Active Project

The company is concentrating on a Phoenix project targeting a 2028 opening pending new financing.

Overview

  • An Atari Hotels representative confirmed the Las Vegas plan "didn’t come to fruition" and said the company is not actively pursuing a project there.
  • Phoenix is presented as the flagship site in the Roosevelt Row Arts District with more than 90 rooms, an esports and concert arena, bars and restaurants, and nearly 85,000 square feet of entertainment and retail space.
  • Developers list a $124 million budget for Phoenix, with construction targeted to begin late this year and a grand opening planned for the fourth quarter of 2028.
  • Atari Hotels says it still needs outside capital, citing a $35 million to $40 million raise and promoting a Regulation A Tier Two offering with a $500 minimum investment.
  • The Vegas concept once envisioned roughly 400 rooms on 5–7 acres near the Strip with an esports studio and Atari gaming playground, part of an eight-city plan announced in 2020 that has largely stalled since the pandemic.
