Overview
- Atari announced Wednesday that the Atari x Activision Collection will reproduce 39 Activision titles as individual, functioning Atari 2600 cartridges and opened preorders the same day.
- The cartridges are period-accurate hardware reproductions that work on original Atari 2600 and 7800 consoles and on Atari’s modern 2600+ and 7800+ systems.
- Twelve games will be sold individually as Standard Edition cartridges for $34.99 each while the rest are only available in four themed Deluxe Box Sets priced at $249.99 each.
- Atari plans a staggered shipping schedule with the first Standard cartridges and the Treasure Deluxe Box Set starting in November 2026 and the remaining themed collections shipping through 2027.
- The release reunites Atari and Activision’s early-era work and is meant to serve collectors and preservationists by restoring physical packaging, manuals, and extras for games that shaped the early industry.
