At Least Seven UK Charities Drop Sarah Ferguson After 2011 Epstein Email Surfaces

Ferguson says the 2011 email was written on legal advice to defuse threats from Epstein.

Overview

  • Julia's House, Teenage Cancer Trust, the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, Prevent Breast Cancer, the Children's Literacy Charity, the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals and the British Heart Foundation announced they have removed her as patron or ambassador since the email’s publication.
  • The April 2011 message described Jeffrey Epstein as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend,” contradicting a March 2011 interview in which she vowed to have no contact with him.
  • Her spokesperson says Epstein threatened to sue her for defamation, and former aide James Henderson recounts a “Hannibal Lecter-style” call in which Epstein allegedly vowed to “destroy” the York family.
  • Ferguson has declined to comment on the organizations’ decisions; current reporting notes her only ongoing formal role is leading her own foundation, Sarah’s Trust.
  • The revelations have renewed scrutiny of the Yorks’ Epstein links, with UK outlets reporting internal royal discussions about further distancing Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew from family events.
