At Least 23 Dead in Mexico Floods as Tropical Storm Raymond Pushes North

Federal forces expand relief operations after a week of extreme rainfall across 31 states.

  • Civil defence authorities reported the heaviest impacts in Veracruz, Queretaro, Hidalgo and San Luis Potosi after days of intense downpours.
  • Hidalgo recorded 16 deaths and about 1,000 homes damaged, while Puebla reported five deaths and 11 people unaccounted for.
