Overview

• Civil defence authorities reported the heaviest impacts in Veracruz, Queretaro, Hidalgo and San Luis Potosi after days of intense downpours.
• Hidalgo recorded 16 deaths and about 1,000 homes damaged, while Puebla reported five deaths and 11 people unaccounted for.
• Single fatalities were confirmed in Veracruz and Queretaro as landslides, overflowing rivers and road failures were cited by national coordinator Laura Velázquez.
• More than 5,400 troops with rescue equipment and vehicles were deployed to distribute aid as shelters took in displaced residents.
• The US National Hurricane Center said Tropical Storm Raymond is moving north toward Baja California after causing damage in Chiapas, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Michoacán.
