Astros to Retire Hall of Famer Billy Wagner's No. 13

Billy Wagner, recently elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame, will have his jersey number retired by the Houston Astros on August 16, 2025.
Wagner's No. 13 will become the 10th number retired by the Astros, joining franchise legends like Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, and Nolan Ryan.
Wagner, who played nine seasons with the Astros, is the team's all-time saves leader with 225 saves and had one of the most dominant seasons ever by a closer in 1999.
He will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on July 27, 2025, wearing an Astros cap on his plaque, reflecting his significant tenure with the team.
The Astros previously decided to only retire numbers of players inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, making Wagner the first to receive this honor since 2008.
