Astros Set to Hire Tony Perezchica as New Third-Base Coach

Tony Perezchica, a veteran coach from the Arizona Diamondbacks, is poised to replace Gary Pettis after a decade-long tenure.

Tony Perezchica is leaving the Arizona Diamondbacks after 22 years to join the Houston Astros as their third-base coach.
Perezchica has served as the Diamondbacks' third-base coach for eight seasons and was also an infield instructor.
His coaching contributed to several Gold Glove awards for Diamondbacks players, including Paul Goldschmidt and Christian Walker.
The Astros did not renew the contract of their former third-base coach, Gary Pettis, opening the position for Perezchica.
Perezchica's new role with the Astros may include additional responsibilities, such as working with minor league infielders.
