• Manager Joe Espada said there is a “strong possibility” Álvarez rejoins the club for the homestand starting Tuesday if he gets through Sunday’s outing without issue.
• Álvarez was scheduled for his fourth rehab appearance Sunday with Double-A Corpus Christi.
• He is 5-for-11 with three doubles in three rehab games and has appeared both as designated hitter and in left field.
• Álvarez has been out since May 2, with imaging later revealing a small fracture; a July setback paused his initial progress before he resumed games last week.
• The Astros begin a 10-game homestand Tuesday against the Rockies, Angels and Yankees, and Espada also said Jake Meyers is on track to start a Triple-A rehab assignment this week.
