The 41st Astérix and Obélix album, titled 'Astérix en Lusitanie,' will be released on October 23, 2025, in 19 languages, including French.
Set in ancient Lusitania (modern-day Portugal), the story will explore the region's Roman occupation and its rich historical context.
Fabcaro returns as the writer, while Didier Conrad continues as the illustrator, marking their second collaboration on the series.
The narrative features the return of a Lusitanian character briefly introduced in 'Le Domaine des Dieux' (1971), now taking on a central role.
The album will be printed in 5 million copies worldwide, adding to the franchise's legacy of over 400 million albums sold since 1959.
