Assam SIT to File Zubeen Garg Case Chargesheet on Dec. 12 After Securing Singapore Evidence

Officials warn the seven jailed suspects could gain bail eligibility if filing slips past December 18.

Overview

  • SIT chief Munna Prasad Gupta says the probe is nearly complete and that all key forensic and medico-legal material from Singapore is in hand, with witnesses there cooperating.
  • The case file spans roughly 3,000–3,500 pages and draws on statements from about 300 people, with submission planned under CID case 18/2025.
  • Seven remain in judicial custody: organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, manager Siddharth Sharma, cousin-DSP Sandipan Garg, drummer Shekharjyoti Goswami, singer Amrit Prabha Mahanta, and PSOs Paresh Baishya and Nandeswar Borah.
  • Assam authorities are pursuing a murder case and have sought to add BNS Section 103, differing from Singapore Police’s preliminary assessment that indicated no foul play.
  • The chargesheet will include two post-mortems, Singapore toxicology and witness material, and CFSL viscera analysis, with investigators also probing alleged financial irregularities exceeding ₹1.1 crore and seeking a fast-track trial.
