Assam Rifles Seizes ₹102.65-Crore Meth Haul in Mizoram as 24-Hour Ops Net Drugs Worth ₹143 Crore

  • Troops recovered 34.218 kg of methamphetamine tablets near Zote in Champhai after a suspect dropped the consignment and fled into nearby jungle, with the haul handed to the Champhai excise authority.

  • In Aizawl’s Zemabawk, a joint operation with the Territorial Army yielded 12 grams of heroin and the arrest of Lalchchuanmawia, 25, a resident of Zote, with the case transferred to the Excise and Narcotics Department.
  • Manipur operations in Tengnoupal led to two arrests and the recovery of about 10.8 kg of methamphetamine tablets and 125 grams of brown sugar, with an estimated value near ₹40 crore.
  • Officials reported drug recoveries exceeding ₹143 crore within 24 hours across Mizoram and Manipur as coordinated agencies sustain heightened enforcement along the unfenced 510 km border.
