Overview

  • On July 24 in Aizawl’s Tuikhuahtlang area, Assam Rifles intercepted 1.97 kg of methamphetamine tablets hidden in a vehicle, valued at about ₹6.6 crore
  • Troops conducted a July 23 raid at Zokhawthar in Champhai district that yielded 1.227 kg of Heroin No. 4 worth ₹9.75 crore and led to multiple detentions
  • A simultaneous operation at Zote village resulted in the arrest of Myanmar national Lalfakawma and the seizure of 1.11 kg of meth tablets valued at over ₹3.03 crore
  • All seized contraband and arrested individuals have been transferred to the Excise and Narcotics Department in Champhai for legal action
  • Assam Rifles complemented the seizures with a “Drug Consumption and Peddling – A Punishable Offence” lecture in Saiha district to educate local youth on trafficking risks
