Overview
- During the early hours of October 18 in Vaphai, Champhai, troops stopped a vehicle after a brief chase and recovered 5,800 gelignite rods, 10,500 metres of cordtex, and 6,000 detonators.
- Two suspects, identified as Lalrinsanga and Vanlalliana, were apprehended in the Vaphai case and handed to Dungtlang police for further investigation.
- A separate October 17 search along Farlui Road in Champhai recovered 90 bags of poppy seeds and 120 bags of areca nuts valued at about Rs 99 lakh, later transferred to the Customs Preventive Force, Champhai.
