- The 24-year-old, self-styled Corporal Thawseng Asom, also known as Anupom Dohatiya, was apprehended near Hanthi Camp in Namsai on October 25.
- Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police launched a follow-up operation in Manfeisang after specific tip-offs, employing aerial reconnaissance, tracker dogs, drones, and technical surveillance.
- Subsequent searches in Pathargaon recovered one MQ-RA81 rifle, three magazines, 151 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a rifle grenade, and a hand grenade.
- Authorities say the suspect was involved in the October 17 strike on the Army camp at Kakopathar in Assam, and he has been handed over to Arunachal Pradesh Police with the seized materiel.
- Separate to the arrest, Assam Rifles reported a cache recovery on October 24 in Mizoram’s Champhai district, including mortar tubes, Myanmar-made rifles, anti-personnel mines, and radio sets.
