• Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the permanent campuses of the Assam Cricket Association Cricket Academy and Guwahati Town Club Football Academy at Uttar Fulung, North Guwahati on August 16.
• The ACA Cricket Academy features one of India’s largest indoor halls accommodating ten pitches, ten outdoor practice pitches, a five-pitch main ground and residential facilities for players and staff.
• The GTC Football Academy campus includes two full-size grounds, a 60-bed hostel and a football pavilion with provisions for future indoor training spaces.
• National and international coaches will provide systematic training and regular monitoring supported by sports science and rehabilitation services.
• The new academies mark Assam’s shift from expanding sports infrastructure to building an integrated pipeline for nurturing elite athletic talent.
