Overview

• The delegation was led by Dasho Arun Kapur and included senior members of the core working group, former Chief Justice Dasho Tshering Wangchuk, MP Dasho Tashi Wangyal, and Royal Bhutanese Consulate officials.
• The project aims to advance regional cooperation and sustainable development by deepening institutional collaboration and reinforcing people-to-people ties across the Assam-Bhutan border.
• Sarma assured Assam’s close collaboration with the Royal Government of Bhutan and invited the delegation to explore partnerships with state-run educational and medical institutions.
• Organizers expect the initiative to deliver new opportunities for youth in both regions through education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange.
• Officials have scheduled a broader multi-sectoral meeting during the delegation’s next visit and are preparing to host Bhutan’s royal family in Assam to continue high-level dialogue.
