Assam Extends Orunodoi 3.0 to Bodoland, Starts December Payouts
The rollout brings monthly Rs 1,250 transfers to roughly 4.1 lakh BTR women after a delay linked to council elections.
Overview
- Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the scheme across Kokrajhar, Udalguri, Baksa, Tamulpur and Chirang with simultaneous district events.
- About 4.12 lakh women in the Bodoland Territorial Region are now covered under Orunodoi 3.0 for direct monthly support of Rs 1,250.
- The December installment is being released immediately to newly enrolled beneficiaries in the region.
- The government announced a January 1 "special gift" for beneficiaries and plans to offer pulses, salt and sugar at Rs 100 below the market rate from that date.
- Sarma said BTR women will receive Rs 10,000 cheques under the MMUA by January 20, while Orunodoi continues to support more than 38 lakh women statewide.
