Overview
- From October 31, theatres across Assam are set to screen only Roi Roi Binale, with other releases paused to concentrate shows on the film.
- Advance bookings are surging, with many shows sold out and some halls scheduling up to five to seven daily screenings starting before dawn, as police prepare for crowd management.
- UFO Moviez says about 91 screens in the Northeast and roughly 90 elsewhere in India will play the film at launch, with additional screens being added to meet demand.
- Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the state will transfer its half of GST on tickets (9% above Rs 100 and 2.5% at Rs 100 or less) to the foundation about a month after collection, noting Assam has no entertainment tax.
- Exhibition infrastructure is being revived for the release, including a refurbished 336-seat Gandhi Bhawan in Tihu supported by government grants and ongoing work to reopen Jagiroad’s Ganesh Talkies.
