Assam Congress Launches Statewide ‘Bor Asom’ Drive With Aspirational Boxes and Leader Tours

The party is collecting written suggestions across all districts to shape a people-first manifesto before the 2026 assembly vote.

Overview

  • The outreach began on 6 December in Dibrugarh under the ‘Raijor Podulit, Raijor Congress’ banner, with parallel digital launches across the state.
  • More than 4,000 Aspirational Boxes will be placed in a phased rollout across 35 districts at markets, bus stops, community halls, tea garden labour lines, and near schools and colleges.
  • By month-end, five teams of senior leaders will traverse Eastern, Central and Western Assam, the Barak Valley and Hill Districts to gather inputs from workers, farmers, students and government employees.
  • Health camps in tea estates started on 30 November as part of the doorstep programme to rebuild grassroots engagement and inform the proposed manifesto.
  • Congress leaders recently met Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi to finalise strategy, AICC’s Jitendra Singh will coordinate the campaign, and a January opposition convention is proposed as parties scrutinise the Special Revision of electoral rolls already challenged in the Supreme Court.
