Overview
- A car carrying actor Ashwin Mushran hit a scooter in Quepem, Goa, on Saturday, injuring a father and son with the father hospitalised according to police statements.
- Authorities have identified and booked the driver as Vasant Puttappa Laman, 32, and opened a police case that begins an official inquiry rather than a legal finding of guilt.
- A video from the scene showing Mushran and his wife arguing with locals has circulated widely and intensified public attention on the incident.
- Local leader Amol Kanekar and witnesses have alleged wrong‑side driving and that a bone fragment was lodged in the car’s fender, but those claims have not been verified by police.
- Key next steps are police investigation, medical reports for the injured and any statement or legal filings from Mushran or the driver, which will determine what charges or actions follow.
