Ashli Babbitt’s Mother Arrested For Assaulting Counter-Protester at Rally for Capitol Rioters
- Micki Witthoeft, the mother of Ashli Babbitt, was arrested for assaulting a counter-protester at a right-wing event outside the Washington, D.C. jail where many of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot defendants are being held.
- Witthoeft’s arrest came after her alleged violent outburst was caught on film and reported to police.
- In video of the incident, Witthoeft can be seen striking the woman, shoving her off the sidewalk, grabbing her megaphone and smashing it.
- Witthoeft's daughter, Ashli Babbitt, was killed by a Capitol police officer on Jan. 6 as she attempted to enter the Speaker’s lobby just outside the U.S. House of Representatives.
