ASEAN Envoys Meet Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister as State Pitches Trade, Tech and Green-Energy Ties

- Eight ASEAN mission heads paid a courtesy call at Samatva Bhawan in Bhopal, where Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav set out priorities in trade, connectivity, digital partnerships, capacity-building and security.
- Dr Yadav underscored centuries of cultural and maritime ties with Southeast Asia and said partnerships can speed industrial growth in Madhya Pradesh through knowledge, technology and innovation exchange.
- The delegation included envoys from Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Thailand, Indonesia and Brunei, led by Malaysia’s High Commissioner Dato’ Muzafar Shah Mustafa.
- Governor Mangubhai Patel separately received the diplomats at Raj Bhavan, calling Act East an expression of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and highlighting opportunities in investment, tourism, education, skills, health services and energy.
- The group is on a Nov. 18–20 visit that included stops at Sanchi and Bhimbetka on Wednesday, with planned visits to the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya and the Tribal Museum in Bhopal on Thursday.
