ASCI Half-Year Report Finds Illegal Betting Ads Dominating, Violations Largely Digital

The self-regulator’s latest review identifies digital platforms, led by Meta, as the chief vector for violative ads.

  • Offshore and illegal betting promotions topped violations in April–September 2025, with 4,575 ads and three surrogate ads flagged.
  • ASCI reviewed 6,841 complaints and investigated 6,117 ads, finding that 98% required modification compared with a year-on-year rise of 70% in complaints and 102% in ads processed.
