Overview

• Jurors at Wolverhampton Crown Court found Asaan Hussain, 30, and Sima Khan, 31, guilty after CCTV showed a hooded shooter firing at an Oldbury home on 17 February.
• Hussain was convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, while Khan was convicted of assisting an offender and possession of a firearm.
• Police said Hussain planned the attack, parking a stolen black Hyundai on 13 February, then taking a taxi to the street before using the car to carry out the shooting.
• Detectives arrested both suspects after they met near Sandwell Valley Country Park and fled to Wales, with further enquiries leading to searches at their Birmingham addresses.
• A self-loading pistol with live rounds was recovered from Khan’s home, though forensic tests confirmed it was not the weapon used in the Vicarage Street shooting.
