A's Legend Dave Stewart Joins Team as Player Development Assistant

The former World Series MVP and Hall of Famer will work closely with the A's minor-league affiliates and player development staff.

Dave Stewart, a celebrated former pitcher and Oakland native, has been hired as a special assistant to player development for the Athletics' 2025 season.
Stewart will collaborate with Director of Player Development Ed Sprague and other baseball operations staff to mentor players and oversee their development.
His responsibilities include working with minor-league affiliates, spring training programs, and the team's academy in the Dominican Republic.
Stewart’s storied career includes three World Series championships, a World Series MVP award, and induction into the A’s Hall of Fame, with his number 34 retired by the team.
In addition to his new role, Stewart remains active in pursuing an MLB expansion team in Nashville.
