Aryna Sabalenka Named WTA Player of the Year After Dominant Season

Aryna Sabalenka won the 2024 WTA Player of the Year award for the first time, following a stellar season with victories at the Australian Open and U.S. Open.
Sabalenka, 26, finished the year as the top-ranked player with a 56-14 record and four titles, overtaking Iga Swiatek in October.
Emma Navarro was named Most Improved Player after climbing from No. 38 to No. 8 in the rankings, highlighted by a U.S. Open semifinal and her first tour title in Hobart.
Paula Badosa earned Comeback Player honors after returning from a back injury to win the Washington title and reach the U.S. Open quarterfinals, finishing the year ranked No. 12.
Other WTA award winners include Lulu Sun as Newcomer of the Year and the Italian duo Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini as Doubles Team of the Year, following their Olympic gold medal win.
