British artist Tracey Emin is recovering in Thailand after her small intestine nearly exploded due to complications from an infection and scar tissue, exacerbated by air travel.
Emin, known for her confessional art pieces, was traveling back to the UK from Australia when she fell ill.
She spent several days in a Thai hospital and is now recovering in a luxury hotel on the island of Phuket.
Emin, who battled bladder cancer in 2020, said the ordeal was not cancer-related but was another health scare in her life.
She is now on a special diet and will return to the UK when she is well enough.
