Art-Therapy Sculptures Lead Octobre Rose Push at Aix’s Centre Ressource Through Oct. 31

The integrative care center pairs cultural therapy with a monthlong program focused on screening uptake.

Overview

  • The Next! exhibition features seven plaster busts by artist Matthieu Faury representing women affected by breast cancer, on view at Centre Ressource in Aix-en-Provence until October 31, 2025.
  • Created between 2022 and 2023 as a long-term art-therapy project, the works aim to symbolize reconstruction for participants who modeled for the pieces.
  • Centre Ressource reports coordinating more than 80 Octobre Rose actions and recently held a pedestrian run that drew about 1,500 participants.
  • The exhibition previously toured Paris and Biarritz and is typically housed at the Institut Sainte-Catherine in Avignon, with backing from CBA Informatique under president Caroline Moga-Birling.
  • In Caux-et-Sauzens, an October 18 program led by Mylène Frassin and the Asec bureau rallied residents for screening awareness and fundraising through walks, exhibits, workshops, sports and community activities.
